I think cutting the blue cast down in the image makes a big difference. In the attached hack I also blurred the background a
bit to remove the grain and burned in the white in the upper left to reduce its eye grabbing quality. Albeit, it looks like he has blue black fur and I did not completely remove the cast, just warmed the tones in the shot up a bit. - Sean
